For the first time in a cycling shoe, the Sidi Carbon Lite Sole introduces a proprietary aerospace material, Aeronet Lite. The Sidi Carbon Lite Sole is engineered to maximize resistance to mechanical stress. Four layers of carbon and Aeronet Lite are moulded into a pattern of longitudinal corrugation increasing rigidity while reducing weight. The Sidi Carbon Lite Sole maintains the optimal stiffness, power transfer of the Full Carbon Sole while significantly decreasing its weight and increasing durability.Vernice: Lorica with a 'patent leather' style finish.For walk ability, the Carbon Lite Sole includes an anti-slip insert at the toe and a replaceable polyurethane heel pad.Carbon LITE sole - new for 2009/2010 Soft Instep Closure System Adjustable Heel Retention Device Caliper Buckle Tecno-II system High Security Velcro Fasteners 3 bolt sole for Shimano SPD-SL, Look and Time cleats. (Speedplay can be fitted with an adaptor) Upper in Lorica and Nylon MeshSoft Instep Closure System: The wide, anatomical and padded strap has been reduced and coupled to soft, thermo-formed Eva increasing comfort and performance. It distributes pressure evenly over the arch area, adjustable from both sides for perfect centering. The system eliminates the need for the High Instep Extender. Serviceable and replaceable.Adjustable heel retention device: New technology for the heel cup system. The adjustable heel retention device reinforces the top of the heel cup and improves fit by closing the back of the shoe more securely around the riders ankle. The heel retention device tightens the top of the heel cup so that it doesn't slip during steep climbs or sprints. It can be adjusted with two small screws that work independently from each other. For a custom adjustment turn the screw towards the + sign to tighten the heel retention device and towards the - sign to open it. Caliper Buckle: The micrometric closure called Caliper buckle is regulated by lifting the central buckle. In order to completely open, lift together both side buckles, while to slightly loosen the closure during the race the central clip must be lifted. Tecno-II system: Tecno II buckle uses monofilament line and a fine-tooth ratchet for smooth adjustment and even pressure distribution Allows frontal micrometric closure and adapts the upper of the shoe to the shape of the foot for a customised fit. The Tecno II system is now smaller and can be replaced more easily. Serviceable and replaceable. High Security Velcro: High security Velcro straps with integrated locking polymer teeth , that engage onto each other when the strap is closed. This feature makes the closure more secure and the strap becomes unmovable. Lorica: Lorica is a Hi-Tech Synthetic leather made from the most sophisticated technology.
