Continental Gravity 2.3 MTB Tyres

The Gravity tyre will appeal to freeriders and extreme cross country riders thanks to it's lightweight, yet tough 2.3" tread profile.

Conti's philosophy for designing MTB tyres is to use the finest materials and technology available to enable riders to get maximum enjoyment from their bikes whilst out on the trail. We try to improve the 'rush' or 'buzz' that people get from riding offroad by making tyres that give the best feel and grip without compromising tyre strength and durability.

The new Gravity tyre gets it's design from the "Gravity Arc" concept, just like it's narrower cousin, the Vapor.

The lugs on these new tyres "arc" down from the middle of the lug to the tread base. This both strengthens the lug and improves the lugs ability to grip, especially in severe conditions.

Riders who try our Gravity Arc tyres will thus benefit from more positive cornering feedback where there is no folding or falling over of weaker shoulder lugs. They will also find that these new "arcs" beneath the tread lugs will enhance trail grip, especially in softer conditions where more of the tread is in contact with the ground.

The Gravity is available in four formats. Firstly a wire beaded option, weighing 770g, then a kevlar beaded "Pro" (650g), Gravity ProTection (anti-cut sidewalls) (675g) and finally a UST version 800g.

We have designed this tyre with a lightweight casing construction aimed at giving excellent uphill and downhill performance. It is not a downhill tyre, it is a wide volume, lightweight freeride tyre for front and rear use which will fit almost all mountain bikes. This low weight/high grip formula saves energy, so on longer rides where pedaling heavy >1kg tyres can really take their toll on tired legs, Continental tyres are clearly the viable alternative.
